Excessive Sweating Prevention

As well as being used to treat wrinkles, Botox injections can be used in the armpits as a treatment for Hyperhidrosis (the medical term for excessive sweating).

Hyperhidrosis can be an embarrassing, inconvenient and uncomfortable condition. It can be associated with an unpleasant odour, and can mena that the sufferer has to shower and change their clothing several times a day.

What does the treatment involve?

The skin should be prepared by trimming or shaving the armpit hair, and ideally should have no antiperspirant applied on the day of treatment.

The skin will be cleaned and the area to be treated will be marked with a washable skin marker to ensure accurate placement of injections.

How quickly does it work and how long does it last?

The effects can begin within a week, with optimal results after three to four weeks.

The effects last for about nine months.

Are there any side effects?

There may be some redness and discomfort in the treated area following the procedure. This usually settles quickly.
